The city of Portland will hold a listening session at Ocean Gateway for members of the public to provide feedback on the response to encampments and talk about possible solutions
Do you care about the unhoused population in Portland? Do you want to make a difference in their lives and in your community? If so, then you need to attend the listening session being held on Tuesday and give testimony in support of providing them with basic necessities such as:
- Toilets
- Needle Boxes
- Trash Receptacles
- Trash Removal
- Access to Social Services
These are not luxuries, but essential services that can help mitigate public health risks and provide a very rudimentary sense of dignity at the least. Not to do so is cruel and unjust.
You have a chance to make your voice heard and influence the decision-makers who can improve the situation of the unhoused in Portland. They are your fellow human beings, and they deserve your compassion and solidarity.
Please attend the listening session and make your voice heard!
