With 12 out of 12 precincts reporting and 94% of the votes, Maine Green Independent Party candidate Fred McCann has declared victory in his run for the Portland Water District. McCann was elected to a one-year term as a Portland Water District trustee representing the city of Portland. The Portland Water District supplies water to 16% of Maine’s population.
In addition to his position on the Portland Water District, McCann currently serves as a co-chair of the Maine Green Independent Party and as the secretary of the Cumberland County Greens.
The Green Party was founded out of an environmental movement, to guard over our environment and as such it is important that we have a Green on every Water District Board to watch over our water.
