Question 2: An Act to Authorize a General Fund Bond Issue for Research and Development and Commercialization
The Cumberland County Greens recognize the critical importance of investing in innovation and technology to ensure Maine’s economic future. By voting YES on Question Two, Mainers will support a bond issue of $25 million that will be used to fund research and development projects in targeted sectors such as life sciences, biomedical technology, environmental and renewable energy, information technology, advanced technologies for forestry and agriculture, aquaculture and marine technology, composites and advanced materials, and precision manufacturing. These investments will not only create jobs and stimulate the economy but also help to position Maine as a leader in these emerging industries. The committee endorses this measure as part of our commitment to a sustainable and thriving future for all Mainers.
