The Cumberland County Greens stand in solidarity with the workers of Coffee by Design who have decided to form a union and demand better wages, benefits and working conditions. We believe that workers have the right to organize and bargain collectively for their interests, and that unions are essential for a fair and democratic society. We applaud the courage and determination of the Coffee by Design workers, who join a growing movement of coffee shop workers across Maine and the nation who are unionizing for dignity and respect. We urge the management of Coffee by Design to recognize the union and negotiate in good faith with the workers. The Cumberland County Greens will continue to support the Coffee by Design workers and all workers who fight for justice and equality.
